Craniosacral Therapy for Adults

As adults, we all face multiple challenges and stress in today's busy world. Not only are there general physical impairments and medial conditions, research is showing increased stress can also lead to an increase in physical problems such as high blood pressure, headaches and back pain, chronic fatigue, and generalized pain. Craniosacral Therapy not only addresses physical issues such as post-concussion syndrome, sinus problems and orthopedic issues, it also addresses stress relief by allowing the "rest and digest" part of the nervous system to come into balance.

How Can Craniosacral Therapy Help Me?

By releasing restrictions in the body and allowing the central nervous system to function at it's best, you are allowing your body to self-heal and create increased movement and balance in muscles, joints, bones, lymphatics, nervous system, and all organs. Movement is related to health, where restriction and non-movement, or stasis, is related to disease. In addition, through treatment you are allowing your body to relax so your central nervous system can regenerate and renew. This improves your body's ability to heal, relieve pain, and improve illness and dysfunction. Additional outcomes include deep relaxation, decreased stress, and emotional release.

Conditions that I specialize for adults and teens:

Headaches, Migraines, Neck Pain + TMJ:

Headaches, migraines, neck and back pain, and mouth and jaw pain can all cause increased stress, irritability, and discomfort. It makes it hard to sleep at night and it's even more difficult to complete day-to-day functions such as going to work or school, sitting for long periods of time, and keeping up with routine housework. There are long term effects which can affect your overall mood and well-being, memory loss, and overall cognitive function. Craniosacral Therapy addresses restrictions in the head, neck, jaw, mouth, and back so that you can have increased movement and decreased pain. It can release pain in the muscles, fascia, and bones to help decrease stress and improve overall health and wellness.

Head Injury, Concussion + Traumatic Brain Injury:

The skull is compromised of multiple bones that surround and protect the brain. When there is head trauma, the bones can become damaged, broken, and misaligned. People with head injuries or concussions can experience high levels of pain, headaches, memory loss, visual disturbances, inability to "think straight," and the inability to regulate sensory functions. The spinal column exits the skull and runs to the sacrum. Injury anywhere on the spinal cord can lead to decreased muscles and organ functions, nerve pain, and can decrease ability of the nervous system to communicate to the brain. Craniosacral Therapy can address the bones in the skull and restrictions along the spinal cord and can help to alleviate many issues related to brain and spinal cord injury.
