Pregnancy

Developed by Dr. John Upledger, Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle, hands-on approach that works with the craniosacral system to alleviate a wide range of disorders and to improve health. The application of Craniosacral Therapy can be used from the process of procreation to the delivery of the child. When a woman is pregnant, there are many physical, emotional and psychological changes that take place. All of the amazing changes that naturally take place in the expectant mother's body is a good example of the intelligent human body and its ability to adjust. I believe that mother and baby (fetus) know what is best in their process for a successful pregnancy, labor, and delivery. CST techniques can be employed with focus on mother and baby as individuals while also functioning as one. CST can empower mother and baby through each phase of the pregnancy through delivery. Complementing traditional methods of prenatal care with CST may preclude the need for other more invasive techniques during delivery. CST may also address and ease recovery should any invasive procedures take place. As changes take place in the mother's physical body, I can help address:

  • Chronic neck, back, and joint pain
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Stress and tension related problems
  • Fatigue
  • Emotional difficulties
  • Muscle pain
  • Thoracic outlet syndrome and carpal tunnel
  • Symphsis Pubis Dysfunction
  • Plantar Fascitis
  • Intercostal or rib pain
  • Increased connection to baby for optimal delivery
  • Placenta previa

In addition CST helps the fetus connect with mother and also become more relaxed and comfortable in utero. When mom is happy and relaxed, baby is happy and relaxed.

During treatment, the central nervous system is relaxed for both mom and baby. Baby is allowed to develop his or her own central nervous system in a calm and healthy environment. Even a single session can help baby and mom . Additional sessions can extend and strengthen the results. I will help you, as a new mom, to develop a treatment plan that best fits you and your baby's needs and goals.

Research has also shown that CST treatment during delivery has helped the birth process. Mothers experience less pain and both mother and baby are more relaxed. Long births may be shortened leading to less invasive procedures. It is most beneficial to have treatment prior to delivery and during labor but there is also the option to have Lesha perform CST during the laboring and birthing process.

Infertility

There are many causes of infertility for both men and women. Issues with males may include: hypothalmic dysfunction, use of certain drugs, chemotherapy and radiation, testicular dysgenesis, obstruction of the vas deferens, and coital dysfunction. Women may have ovulatory dysfunction, tubal and pelvic factors, hyper or hypothyroidism, intrauterine adhesions, use of certain drugs, lead or high levels of metals, and chemotherapy and radiation, just to name a few. It is important to seek medical knowledge and use CST in conjunction with your regular physician. CST can help clear personal issues with conception and surrounding belief patters and ideas around fertility. It is also a positive way to "get the house in order" before baby moves in. If there are fascial (coating around the organs and muscles) restrictions in the pelvic floor, uterus, ligaments of the uterus, ovaries or fallopian tubes, CST can be used as a gentle way to open up and prepare the body for conception. Lastly, conception takes two people and CST is often more effective when both partners are treated.

The application of CST throughout the journey of pregnancy and childbirth can facilitate a positive birth experience, while realizing the magic of the miracle. A peaceful birth creates a more peaceful earth.
